Only Grace

by David Munoz   Apr 12, 2006

Fiery Passion controlled an empty shell
Producing one who is inert
Learning to love and truly love life
Then dealt the true meaning of hurt

But pain is nowhere to be found
Only a feeling that no one gets
Caused by choices I made myself
Yet without the feeling of regret

The feeling burns deep inside me
A fire that refuses to die
Even against the raging floods
Brought from all the tears I cry

Why cry is not in pain
What can tears be worthy of
Our feelings are hidden in clouds
We cannot define our love

Our morals make us who we are
Our hearts are what it tells
Yet we cast it away for a moment
All in sake of ourselves

If by choice then why reject
The outcome as a crown
Why view it as a downfall
If only we see us as down

Because if we received our crown
It would be a crown of thorns
Our just result in our eyes
Combined with a world of scorn

But by grace we rise again
Helped to rise up and stand tall
Because if we accept we tripped
He will forgive us for our fall

Only to continue on hand in hand
With his hand in between
To lead us down our rightful path
One only he has seen

He will forgive us from our fall
Do you mean from or for?

This poem was really emotional and the word choice was amazing. I think the start of the poem was the strongest and it did seem a bit weak in the middle. Still great just not as strong. The message is a good one. I really did like your poem. I don't know if it should be more in the life/society ones under inpsiration than this. But who knows, maybe your poems will inspire people. This onw asn't bad at all.
