My Footsteps

by Timothy S   Apr 13, 2006

My footsteps now light as a feather
As I walk with lead in my feet in calm weather
The storms that surround, drowned out by falling angels
Glimpses of what once was great, changing with every angle
A future, burned out by the torches of failure
The flame now burning black, forces me into my past stranger
Stumbled upon scars, branded across my arms
The self-inflicted wounds, in a pitiful attempt of unharming
Re-opening doors and closing others without consent
Unconcious thoughts reigning chaos in my silent steps
Walking without a shadow to a finish line that's not there
The battle no longer carrying a presence of what's fair
A war within, burying bodies and ideas in despair
Breaking in half. Knowing. I could've won...If I Cared.
Listen to my footsteps, the pain that they bare
Look at my footprints, learn, while they're still there
