Bang Bang

by k i k i   Apr 13, 2006

It woke me during the night,
It was cold and lonely.
Lights flashed once, twice,
Then it all went dead.

Everything was silent.

Fighting off the enemy,
Defences so tough, nothing will conquer.
Guns out and ready to fire,
A bomb, an impact explodes.

Bursting into flames,
Watching me, the world tear apart.
Windows smashes, children crying,
There’s nothing to save us.

Bricks and barricades shattered,
Town now in ruins.
Emotions running north and south,
Tears fill the empty streets.

Facing the scars,
Exposed once, repaired again.
Memories imbedded into the mind,
Emotional and physical strengths thrive.

Will this ever resolve?
Will the pieces be resewn together?
Will we be able to carry on?
Will they realise any wrong?

Totally unknown cause.

Scream so fast.
Tears breaking.
Blood clotting,
Faint.

Looking at the situation at hand,
Pulling back the pieces.
Re-building this, our lives,
Trying to move on.

Years pass, lives lost,
The imprint is still there.
Watching them flood by the millions,
Fighting for something.

Flashbacks of the city on fire,
A furious flame filmed.
Mutilated bodies scattered across,
Another hit. Bang.
