Anorexia

by And smiles hide everything   Apr 13, 2006

She wanted to be perfect
Like the girls in magazines.
She didn't mean to become an addict
To those superior queens

Getting up each day
She would look in the mirror
Disappointed about yesterday
She'd become a traitor.

She had eaten a granola bar
She puked it out in the end
But she was bigger by far
Then all her skinny friends.

Wanting to be like those teens
Day after day, night after night
She'd try on her size 2 jeans
But they never fit her right.

Her friends started to become worried
She would get skinnier each day
They were scared anorexia would succeed
And take their dear friend away.

Help is what she needed
But she wouldn't comprehend
She said she hated
How they just didn't understand.

Although they tried everything they could
A month later was that sad day
When all the memories of their childhood
And their best friend was taken away.
