Tragedy in the U.S.A.

by applecheeks   Feb 4, 2004

In the after math there is silence
From the devastation done
In the rubble rescuers search
In hopes to find someone

Smoke and dust fill the air
And cries of people too
Standing back in sadness
Of the towers we once knew

Ms. Liberty stands
Across the other side
And for a moment her torch
Burns out for all of those who died

Families who once were whole
Suddenly are torn apart
Left with such emptiness
And a hole inside our hearts

So we all came together
Because united we will stand
To heal the wounds and slowly rebuild
Our scared but awesome land

This tragedy caused much pain
Than we feel will never end
But we must go on and tell these terrorists
“YOU’RE NOT GOING TO WIN!”

Because we are strong
Freedom rings in the U.S.A
Red, white and blue and stars of white
That will never fade.
