Remember when

by sierra   Apr 14, 2006

I remember when
It was safe to go outside
You could walk right down the street
And you wouldn't have to hide

You didn't have to worry
About diseases in the air
You could live free & about
Without a single care

Now we are so cautious
And we live with sudden fear
Our futures seem so very gloomy
Because we think the end is near

I remember when
Girls acted their age
Now they just seem to skip ahead
Passing the most important stage...

...The stage of intelligence
And pure sophistication
But now they're willing to throw it away
For one single person's mere persuasion

I remember when
Boys acted like young men
They didn't try to act like thugs
And they didn't have to pretend

I remember when
People lived off of repsect
But as the years fly on by,
That's the one thing we forget!
