When You Leave

by manic moments   Apr 15, 2006

Don't worry about me
You said, that last day
It took me hours to see
What you where trying to say

You knew all along
That you won't be coming home
Feeling as if you don't belong
Through the albums you use to comb

Couldn't you talk to me?
Am I to far to reach?
How could all this be?
Was it an involuntary switch?

Why did you have to go away?
I miss you so much already
In the wind you use to sway
This beautiful memory stays steady

I cry in vain for you
Pleading with shadows for hope
One day I'll be gone to
Probably using a hanging rope

I'm sorry I didn't hear
Your cries in the silent night
Now I have to silence them with beer
Look at me, what a sight

Now it's my day to go
Slowly I tighten the rope at my throat
Inching off the edge, so slow
I won't be coming home....
Not anymore, I won't

PLease comment on this poem, I would like to know what you all think and see if I need to improve.
