Stars Collide

by A_little_lower_than_the_angels   Apr 15, 2006

Stars collide with dreams
In a world where we cannot see
That everything we dare to touch
Crumbles, because we care too much

Wind is dying as we call their names
In empty fields of broken hearts
And we laugh, for all the world to see
Because pride hides sorrow to ones such as we

Beyond waterfalls and rainbows
Upon a word, one final song
We searched for meaning in hearts of stone
Amongst loneliness, and scattered bone.

This love is fleeting, it dies with pain
As we realise that freedom is a lie
We dwell beyond hope, beyond feeling
As the rain echoes softly, a melancholy keening.

It makes no sense.
But despair is our only form of defense.
