Locked

by Viv   Apr 16, 2006

Confined to my cell for too long,
I began to wither away.
Breaking free for a minute or two, Until you slam the bars shut again.

My world teasing me,
Letting me leave
Then taking away my chance to be free.

Couldn't stand it any longer,
I had to plan my escape,
Running fast, Out of reach.

I'm sorry I had to break loose,
But I'm afraid of what I would do
If I must stay with you.

Keeping me locked up
In the prison of your heart
Was tightening my noose.
