Charred, Burnt, Broken

by Jemma   Apr 16, 2006

Charred, burnt and broken
Floating on the wings of another broken dream
I'm getting tired cos the jokes getting old
And I'm sick of waiting for you

I'm stood amidst the smoke
It's scratching at my lungs
Taunting me for my naivety
And I'm sick of being your fool

Too many nights and hours of the day
Spent searching for hope in despair

I'm now caught in the fire I lit
The flames are unbearable as I feel this heat
My heart cannot take the strain
I can't take any more pain

I need you; you make me whole
And you're the one that's tearing me apart
And there's no object to our game

I've been bitten and I've leant from it
But my heart still weeps in sorrow
From the only wound it's had
A wound I know won't heal

I'm charred, burnt and broken
You're the life needed to repair me
And you're all that's denied from me
But I still need you
