Extinction

by Tyler   Apr 16, 2006

There once was a land so freely roamed
The Earth, so luscious and beautiful green.
To mysterious creatures the world was home.
So great in size they sauntered free.
Pollution was of no concern
Everything natural in its make
Little they knew of the enigma's return
Or of the rise and fall that life does take.
Destruction was on the way
Land and water UN-purged with dirt
Never returning the light of day
The brilliant species struck with hurt.
All existence struck by flying boulder
Clouded is the land of cosmic smoke
Ripping through the air it seems to smolder.
They strain for breath with their last stroke.
The first land-walkers now wiped out.
Their mystery and wonder things of past.
What is this curious cycle all about?
Life taken and given by force so vast.
