Sing a lullaby

by pag   Apr 16, 2006

I sing myself a lullaby
as i lay me down to sleep
i do my best not to cry
but I'm in this much too deep
it always hurts my heart
to be away from you
i hate being apart
i just want to hold you
i just want to feel your little hand
as i hold you tight
yet I'm too weak to stand
so please stay here tonight
and I'll sing you a lullaby
as we lay down to sleep
I'll hold you so you shall not cry
I'm in this much too deep

this is also a very old poem
from when someone very special
was still alive
