Broken from the start

by Clark Jacobs   Apr 16, 2006

When all your tricks are blown
And the secrets seep out of your skin
The audience is shocked by the truth
Your personality is wearing thin

Left with no crowd
You cant spread your lies
Isolated from the rest
No one to criticize

Too late for apologies
The people now see
Your hope of forgiveness
Will never be

Well its all down hill from here
Couldve seen it coming from the start
But you cant even see your friends face
When you stripped him of his heart

Went back to an empty home
Too proud to cry
It leaves you with pain
No one but you to imply

Your memories kick in
All the times youve let them down
The lack of guilt in you
Leaves you left to drown

Inside of you somewhere
Theres a heart
And until you find it
Chances of hope are far apart

Well its all down hill from here
Couldve seen it coming from the start
But you cant even see your friends face
When you stripped him of his heart

Well it cant get any worse
Your shallow mind will never part
Gone low as you can go
You were broken from the start
