My worth, My birth

by David Marshall   Apr 16, 2006

What am I worth?
fueled by hate.
From the day of my birth,
doomed by fate.

Why do I live?
filled with regret.
Why not forgive,
why not forget.

Why do I suffer?
day and night.
The pain is getting tougher,
I can no longer fight.

Who can I trust?
everyone has lied.
Turned to dust,
destroying pride.

Where do I stand?
to gain my reason.
Where do I land?
my life is treason.

It's slipping away,
no purpose for me.
For all to decay,
sorrow is all I see.

Say you love me.
Say you care.
Say you want me.
Say you'll always be there.
Say you wont leave.
Say you'll stay.
Say you believe.
Say it will be OK.
Say your sorry.
Say don't cry.
Say don't worry.
but don't say goodbye.

I want to hear it from you,
Make me believe it's true.

I want to know how you feel,
please let this love be real.

I want to give my heart,
to love and have a new start.

I want this to be the day,
but my soul seems so far away.

I need you by my side,
no longer can my feelings hide.

Give me that purpose,
give me that worth.
I need your love,
a new life, a new birth.
