Box of Memories

by Anna   Apr 17, 2006

In a box is all your things
All my memories of you
All the places that we've been
the times we both went through
You and I and everything
from drinks to riding in your car
all in this little box of mine
the memories of who you are
and now that love is over
another piece of my past
a true love built on forever
and yet it didn't last
I'm sorry for my choices
But I couldn't stay the same
Yet I'll never fail to think of you
when I hear your name
A little box of memories filled so high
You'd never think a love like that would so quickly die
and like i said I'm sorry
for the changes i went through
I'll always think the world of you
These words I swear are true
There will always be those songs
the ones we sang to in the car
and the nights we spent together
forgetting who we are
My eyes fill up with tears
and a weight rests upon my heart
When I open up that little box
thats when the memories fall apart
And here I am after these few years, remembering those days
When it all was simple and complex in many different ways
Again I am so sorry for the pain I put you through
You really did not deserve me
This I know is true
I place the lid back on my box
putting the memories away
But I'll be back to reminisce
I'm done remembering today
