Shadow of morning sun

by jamie ellen   Apr 17, 2006

I bare the solitude: I welcome it with grace
Though on nights like these
Wind high: singing songs of old
I do confess I wish for more

A hand to hold
A body to warn away the cold
A gaze to fall into
Restless nights made calm: with an embrace to tight to fight

Lullabies of winters past are a haunting tune
This is the fear in my solitude
A prisoner in my own right,
Vicious cycle upon the confinement of ones sole

Bitter taste, stale air
Warmth of thoughts chilled with dreams of fear
Entanglement of seasons past
Morning song birds shall begin
And again I turn to see only one thing
My shadow my old friend
My solitude

"A body to warn away the cold"... should that be warm??

"Ones sole" should be "one's soul".

Great imagery. I like the fact that you use some "big words" - better ways to describe situations than small words and simple/overused phrases.
