Life is more than just a game

by Avrii Monrielle   Apr 17, 2006

I used to believe life was a game
I subjected to change and did not stay the same
Now I know the truth which this petty world deceived
I want to run away, I want to leave

When I walked down the street, I felt so trapped
Underneath it all I could feel the ground shake and crack
I fell into a crevice and looked with my eyes
What I saw made me blind

I saw the truth in everything
Why people killed and lied
I saw mothers crying for the children they lost
I found a kitten lying in a box...in the middle of the highway

There were bombs being thrown
Children and adults suffering from hunger
People isolated from the everyday world
I realized one of those people was me
Covered up and deceived

If you look carefully you can find
Yourself being wasted with time
Because the little things we take for granted
Are truly the luxuries in life

So yes, when I woke up this morning
I remembered all the pain
But I told myself
"Life is more than just a game"
