Prisoned behind these four walls...

by Latasha   Apr 17, 2006

Trapped behind the bars,
The same four painted walls,
Everything remains the same,
Defenseless against you.

Starring helplessly into the center,
Searching for away to escape,
Surrounded by these walls,
Prisoned to all the gossip.

The hallways seem to last forever,
As lonely souls cross paths,
Everyone in search to get out,
Everyone a little bit closer to the end.

Corrupted by all the rumors,
Teachers paint images in our minds,
To try and create a better you,
A little bit further behind we fall.

Truths can't be expressed,
The four walls we're trapped behind,
Only see the lies and deceits,
We all become lost behind these prisoned walls.

As we all fall under the spell,
The spell of popularity,
That everyone tries desperately to achieve,
Only the non-perfect succeed.

The day of graduation,
Everyone leaves this prison,
Only to enter a prison of a different world,
Where no one really knows the true you,
Not even yourself.
