Once You Were There

Once You Were There

They say friendships are meant to last,
Not to be buried in the past.
Yes, you and I were the best of friends.
With hearts that beat as one.

Then suddenly, what became of me?
I hurt you and the pain I see,
Slowly, I can feel what is happening to us.
Our friendship starts to crumble like dust.

My eyes were opened; I saw what I have done.
The pain I have caused, made our friendship gone.
Now I stand alone feeling guilty.
Seeing you in pain is killing me slowly.

Once you were there when I needed you
Once you were there at my side to help me.
Once you were there and put colors to my life.
Once you were there; you complete me.

I hope you know that I am sorry.
Our friendship is not meant to end this way.
Now I stand alone, hoping and waiting.
That someday I can see your hand reaching me.

They say friendships are meant to last,
Not to be buried in the past.
Once you were there I have hurt you.
But please believe me I love you.
