Lost Control

by Jasmyn   Apr 18, 2006

I could almost swear you're bipolar
you're like Jekyll and Hyde
you're perfectly fine one moment
and then you show your other side.

It's like flipping a switch
you're either off or on
sometimes I even start to think
you're alter ego is gone.

you prove me wrong every time
though you dent your extra personality
I'm sure if you thought more on it
you'll agree you're more than mom and abbey.

You tear me down
and then watch me start from scratch
you ate the carrot you dangled
I reach, and you snatch.

To you, my life is yours
because you allowed me to live
you take and want
but there's only so much I can give.

I want to be strong
and not give up the ghost
but of all the pain I feel inside-
you inflict the most.

Don't get me wrong
No matter what I'll always love you
and despite everything
you did the best that you could do

But I feel like you're giving up being a parent
you no longer what the role
you're trying to punish me
because you've lost control.
