Lingers

by Julianne   Apr 18, 2006

Spring wakens, allowing the earth to
b r e a t h e.

Measuring the time in hours
becomes a foreign concept.
For in the days of summer,
only two things matter:
daylight and darkness.

In the hours of night,
the moon and stars glow so brightly
I can see shadows of us
swimming in the black water.

The sweet scent of
sugar
l

you)
ng
ers
in the air.
The simple act of inhaling
reminds me of your presence.

Warm and sweet,
like a soft blanket wrapped lovingly
around my frail shoulders.
