Boundaries

Boundaries

Boundaries have no limits.
They are endless.
They are inescapable.
They are terrifying.

There are physical boundaries,
That rule your life.
They keep you down and depressed.
They never seem to cease.

There are emotional boundaries,
Which you always seem to be past.
It’s as if you can’t take any more,
And still the pain keeps coming.

There are geographic boundaries,
Which keep you from reaching your loved ones.
They stop you from seeking the world.
They are ever-lurking beasts.

There’s the boundary of gravitation,
It restrains you from grabbing the stars,
And it holds you captive to this small world.
It traps you, and keeps you from true adventures.

I wonder, with all of these boundaries,
Shall I ever be free?
I long to escape them,
And just be me.
