Unknown Soldier

by S R P   Apr 19, 2006

You've fought so many times,
You'd of gladly gave your life.
You've never been given the recognition
That is rightly yours

You never even care,
But this is the life you choose.
You fight in one of many wars,
So very important to you.

You find so much joy,
In the time that you spend fighting.
Maybe it's not something you enjoy,
Or maybe it's exciting.

Many would call you crazy,
Tell you it isn't worth your life,
But you just smile and shrug,
Maybe it's worth the strife?

We owe you so much,
Yet we credit you so little.
Maybe you expected such,
From so many lost and wandering souls.

You are just one of many soldiers,
But one would make a difference.
Maybe it will lead you to success,
Or maybe even destruction.

Do you question yourself,
Is this world really worth it?
Do you put your emotions on a shelf,
Forgetting who you are,
Remembering only your purpose?

Do people ask you, "Why does it mean so much?"
With one simple touch the world would be yours,
So much pain,
So much hurt,
So much to live for,
Yet so little to die for.

You are the Unknown soldier in the unknown world,
You take your rightful place on the field of honor.
So much destruction,
And all for what?

You know your purpose,
You just have to make the cut...
