I have nothing left to lose
Yet everything to hide
I don’t know why I feel
Like I need you by my side.

Since the day I met you
I can’t erase you from my mind
Everything you say or do
Makes my life seem more kind

Something about you makes me feel
Like I can do anything
Like even happiness is real

Something in your eyes
Makes me want to heal your pain
To hold you for even a moment
To shield you from the rain

I don’t know what it is
That makes me feel so drawn
Is it all in my mind,
Or only something that I want?

Do I really want to know
What it truly is?
Or do I want to hide
Every part of this?

I feel like I have known you
All of my life
To have your friendship
Makes me forget my strife

How do I explain this
Or do I stay ignorant
For all they say, ignorance is bliss.

But ignorance is not freeing
And often times it can be misleading
Guiding us astray
From our true purpose.
