Whatever Will Be

by ntv650   Apr 19, 2006

I would capture the wind in my hands,
Even if I knew it would defy god's will.
Tear natures walls, tear down my house,
And leave the shreds for Mr. Consequence
(For while he rarely brings good over bad,
Whatever the answer, at least one is brought
And often answers are all we are asking for)

And I would promise to love you forever,
If our futures werent quite so hushed
Because forever is an awfully long time
To leave this world as your lover, your friend.
Yet the gift we have missed, the greatest thing,
Is the knowledge of where we stand in this;
That we'll land softly then, when and if we fall.

So whether time or little inklings forbid,
Worry, pain or mistakes us someday split,
Don't hide away in vain fear of triflings,
Were both fighters in our own queer way,
And we needn't flinch when life bears it's face.

Because either way... your lover, your friend.
Whether painful crash or gentle sail to our end,
-And however far apart our paths each other take,
Regardless of choice, forever our love might stay;
-And make whatever distance... seem half as far away!
