At The Summit Of Absolution

by Sea2Summit   Apr 19, 2006

I see you there with your muskrat smile
looking back at sorrowful me
Peacefully perched with a desert rose
among the wind swept trees

Fumbling for a reason
my empty words cannot say what I mean
You cover my mouth, take my hand
and then we float upstream

Through the valley we laugh and sing
cherishing the days we had
Your forgiving touch just means so much
but somehow I still feel sad

Ascending higher with your calm reassurance
the view then becomes so clear
Of the beautiful world around you
and the ones you hold so dear

Getting closer I still cannot rid
this shame from yesterday
But with a simple kiss you blow to me
those feelings just drift away

At the peak you uncover your soul
and I realize what I've come upon
For it is you, my dear, that is our angel here
