In the cold light of morning

by Lady Vengeance   Apr 21, 2006

In the cold light of morning
The blood is yet to cool
Upon her perfect snow white skin
Where it was left to pool

In the cold light of morning
Her veins were torn apart
By something unfamiliar
To the innocents young heart

In the cold light of morning
This girl was made to sleep
Against her better judgement
She knows she's in too deep

In the cold light of morning
She faced a gruesome beast
She named it "our society"
The bit she liked the least

In the cold light of morning
She was forced to conform
But innocence chose death instead
And so her blood marks "dawn"

*i am aware that the title is also a song, that is due to the fact that it was an improv. i had to write a poem with the title of a song for this contest i entered.

"The blood is yet to cool"... HAS yet? Has sounds better than is, in my opinion. Feel free to ignore me though :)

"Innocents" needs an apostrophe - innocent's.

Also, I think "judgement" is spelled judgment. Might want to check on that.

Sorry, I'm a bit of a grammar/spelling Nazi. Part of being an Editor of a paper for several years.

The poem itself is fantastic though, great word choices and description usage. :)
