Why did you leave me
If you know your coming back
To let me sit here and think
you completely walked off track

you explain Ill be yours again
then why cant I understand
we will regain once again?

Every night you have to calm me down
to make my frown upside down
You know I never sleep
Because I know your not mine down deep.

The only way I go to bed
Is that I have to pretend
What you once said

Everything is OK
Just close your eyes

That's the only way I sleep
To think that down deep

Some nights I wake up in a fright
It makes me get up and turn on the light
I begin to realize your not there
I start to ball wishing you were here

I love hearing your voice
But its only hearing; I cant touch.

You whisper me these words
you make them sound mint
I cant help but frown.

you say id make the perfect father
you say I'm the one to be
you say how much you love me
I sit and think..
will that day ever come true to me?

you promise it will you say its all right
then why are you out after school all night?

I sit here with the phone in my hand
Hoping you will call like we have planned

Sometimes you cant
I can understand
Until I hear the reason why
