Taking Advantage

by Fluffy Cotton   Apr 21, 2006

When, instead of thanking God for making me unique,
I spend an hour at the mirror trying to fit in.
When, instead of thanking God for each day of the week,
I beg the clock to hurry so the day will finally end.
When, instead of thanking God for family that cares,
I force my mom to drive for miles to hang out with my friends.
When, instead of thanking God for nature and for air,
I lock myself inside all day, ignoring all my sins.
When, instead of thanking God for blessing me with meals,
I waste away my appetite on junk food and on snacks.
When, instead of thanking God for everything I feel,
I carry on and question him with personal attacks.
When, instead of thanking God for giving me a home,
I dream of driving far away, as far as I can go.
When, instead of thanking God for making me his own,
I do all that I can to make sure that it doesn’t show.

VERY powerful - as a christian, i can totally relate to the feelings you're feeling, and they're hard to accept sometimes, but so true. that was honestly and sincerely a beautiful poem -- i say that to a lot of people, but i ABSOLUTELY love that poem. KEEP IT UP!
