X Worth Less Than Your Reputation . . .

by Sole   Apr 21, 2006

Never thought I'd go through this complicated situation
I never though we'd have this unfriendly conversation
I never thought my feelings could exceed infatuation
I never thought I would be worth less than your reputation

You proved me wrong, now things will never be the same
But thinking of your other reasons, I need a bigger frame
Why couldn't you just tell me straight? Why this twisted game?
Is this really all my fault? Am I the one to blame?

I really thought I knew you, but it seems I got it wrong
I can't understand, see, some things just don't belong
And yet, for me to realise it's taken way too long
Now I'm underwater and I have to just be strong

Hold my breath and wait for this feelings dissappearance
But you provoke my thoughts, a constant cause of interference
Try to make it go, but it grows with your peserverence
Now I'm filled with your games, overriding incoherence

I thought we were good friends, and that is why you were still talking
But I misunderstood, and now away from you I'm walking
I never thought my feelings could exceed infatuation
I never thought I would be worth less than your reputation.

    Amazing job!
This poem was very sad and so true in many cases. The way you described it really kept my attention and it flowed very well..Great job! 5/5*

    Nice write.
A sad poem and you portrayed the message well. The repetition gave a good effect and helped close off the poem at the end.

Make sure you've capitalised every "I" because I think you missed one in the third stanza.

    Good job.

Certain friends are just not worth keeping. I have found that when a friend starts to drag you down, it's just easier to let them go, rather than allow them to get you off task. Loved the poem!!!
