She's Gone

by Katran   Feb 6, 2004

Can't anyone see her cuts?
Up and down her arms?
We all know that she's had enough
Look at all those scars
She's stopped eating again
She hasn't eaten for days
Her face looks so drained
Her spirit has faded away
She skipped class again today
She came back with tears in her eyes
Her sleeves were blood stained
Which she quickly tried to hide
She has stopped speaking now
She never says a word
She used to be so loud
But now she barely stirs
She doesn't do her work anymore
She just sits there all day long
The teachers all yell at her
But she just sits there and nods
She cried all the way through school today
But she didn't make a sound
She had her desk all arranged all arranged
But her scissors couldn't be found
She hasn't come to school this week
She just didn't show up
Her pain seems to be getting deep
She always looks like she's just thrown up
She's back at school now
With bruises and cuts on her arms
No one will do anything to help her out
The teachers don't care about the scars
She didn't show up at class this period
So someone checked in the schoolyard
They found out that she was serious
Only this time she had more than scars
She slit her wrists so deep
That she is no longer here
She slipped into an endless sleep
She did what we all feared
The teachers broke the news to us
About how she was gone
This was nothing new to us
We had known it was going to happen for so long
So why didn't anyone stop her?
She was crying out to us all
I think we all just forgot her
Her screams of pain we ignored
