Secrets

by Su   Apr 22, 2006

There's so much we hide within,
So much we'll never leak,
Pain, angst from misunderstandings,
Kept inside they grow ever bleak.

I'd love to find the answer,
I want to find the cure,
For the never said feed never were,
And always we want more.

Other secrets you may find,
Include love of a different kind,
Forbidden to the heart - yet persistent in the mind,
The deepest love ignored inside.

These secrets they bite away,
They tear your spirit and soul,
For these feelings that we never say,
Curse us to be as dark as what they involve.

We feel these many uncertainties,
Then feel misunderstood,
But not one way there is to please-
The one hidden behind the hood.

Secrets - they are part of us,
The bad grow as we grow old,
Now I wonder if indeed I must,
Become the one who told.

Is this the cure? Is this the way?
Can we acknowledge all our pain?
I fear to say - yet I fear the day,
I'll take these secrets to my grave.
