Who's to blame?

Born into the world
Knowing not of it's cruelties
Not of the misery and pain
Knowing not what you shall face,
Innocent to all evil
Totally dependent, to be taught
Not knowing right nor wrong,
And not able to question what others do.

Can be wronged and never know,
Taught to trust those around
Believing they know best,
Thinking all they do as right.
As they exploit your trust,
Hurt you in many ways
You do not realise that they are wrong
So blame yourself,
Confused about what to do
Not understand how you feel.
Never forgetting the events
Never knowing who was to blame.

You see others
Think they experience the same,
Those you trust tell you to keep quiet
So speak to others you cannot.
Can see that you are different
But never knowing why,
Do not realise your life is not the same
That this which happen are wrong.

So feel isolated,
And blame yourself once more.
The pain grows within
Yet you do not know why,
Not knowing why they hurt you
Why you feel this way,
Not understand why you are different
Why your life is not the same.

Eventually realisation will strike
And you will know what was wrong
Know what they should not have done,
But still not who was to blame.
Feel hurt and exploited
But guilty that it was all allowed
Guilty that you did not prevent it,
Guilty that you held it inside.
Unable to speak to others still
For fear of what they will say.
Fear they will blame you,
As you still know not who to blame.
