I care...

I dont care about the things other girls fuss about
I care about things like when I will get a change to let my feelings out

I care about whether or not I will have the strength to make it till tomorrow
I care about finding other ways to make sure my pain doesnt show

The things I care about are not the thoughts that go through every ones head
The thoughts in mine are saying you should be dead

Do not tell me if my makeup is smudged I dont give a crap but
I will care about my appearance if you can see one of my cuts

I care about helping others who are thinking about stepping on my destructive path
I care about educating people who think self harm is just a laugh

I care about making sure self harm becomes a thing of the past
And I care about that the things people learn in treatment will last

Most of all I care about helping others before they cross the line
I care about making sure that every self injurer will come out the other end unharmed and fine
