Blood-Stained Apologies

by Candlelight Chaos   Apr 22, 2006

Shards of a broken mirror lie on the bloodstained floor
A young girl's hand so red and sore
Go ahead, lock the door
As you blame yourself for everything that's gone wrong
The stereo blasts the song
That so fuels your hatred toward the world
The reflection staring back at you seems so broken and torn
With the slam of a fist it is erased, and the carpet so worn
Greets the glass with it's bloodstained apologies
But there's no time for such analogies
Time is of the essence in this place
Hurry or you might miss seeing another fake face
A knock on the door, hurry hide the mess
You don't want to confess
How you feel inside
You'd rather lie and hide
Let the cool darkness ease your pain
Listen to the falling rain
These things so comforting and hopeful
Allow you to disappear into a world so beautiful
