Mirror

by Peter Williams   Apr 23, 2006

Through the clouds and into the air.
There was something I should've said,
Now I simply just don't care.
As I close my eyes and lay down on my bed,
I swear there was something she said.
Maybe I should've listened,
But I had to find out for myself.
I deleted your picture and took it off my shelf.
Welcome to what has happened before,
Please hold on and try to stay with me a little while more.
Here we are at the edge of a knife,
Here goes another twist in my life.
How did things go so wrong?
Why couldn't my heart beat strong?
I looked into the mirror and saw a stranger.
I saw in the distance a familiar danger.
The stranger looked back at me,
And I knew it couldn't be...
For that stranger was me.
Now at last I can see.
