Counting seconds...

by Elynnka   Apr 23, 2006

I need your arms wrapped around my weak body,
I need your voice whispering "I love you" softly,
But my hope seems crashed by the loneliness around
As I wait for you in this damned place where the wind makes no sound.

I try to look beyond this dusted broken mirror glass
Hoping my distorted reflection will help time faster to pass,
But I try in vain for I can only see the reflection of your face
As it persist in my head, making time go at a slower pace.

I try to find something to occupy my mind
Wishing thoughts of you will be left a little behind,
But the melody of cold drops falling and of heartbeats going slow
Make me realize, I need you honey more than I can ever show.

I need to feel you by my side wherever I may be,
I need to feel your love that burns eternally in me,
But now time seems merciful for I can feel it pass away
A little faster than it did the other day.

It now seems that loneliness made its way away from my heart
As warm sun rays embrace me, chasing away the dark
And as I try to understand what is happening just now,
I'm thinking there isn't an answer to this somehow...

And I still sit here waiting and wondering how long it'll take for you to return,
But I'm counting seconds patiently, because I have to come to learn
That in the end all is worth while and I'll soon be able to breathe
For you're coming home tomorrow and your presence is all that I need.
