My sailor

by katie!   Apr 23, 2006

I've sailed on every ocean, and swum in every sea
"But where are you my loved one, please come back to me"
I'm searching for a lover lost within the darkest night
Her letters kept me going throughout every fright

Her hair flows down so gently, from her shoulders standing proud
She's smiley and she laughs at my jokes, ever so loud
But I can't see her standing on the cliff where I left last
I just see trees a swaying, remembering my past

"Come home my sailor boy, come home and hold me tight"
I cannot find my way anywhere during this gruesome night
The bodies of the fallen lie brutally on the ground
Without a light to guide me how can love ever be found

But wait whats that, a ray of hope, a lighthouse far away
Which shines its precious beauty on a world far gone astray
"I will meet you by the railroad, take care my dear take care"
I will search through every town and city to see her auburn hair

The light it guides me slowly, across the beaten track
While I groan beneath the weights, so heavy on my back
And over there, I see her, facing into the wind
Its like her precious beauty has cleansed me of my sins

I run up to her and kiss her, salty tears run from her eyes
I've never seen someone look so wonderful when they cry
I hold her in my arms this night, as our souls melt together
"I love you my sweet sailor" I love you too, forever
