The Shed Tears

by Fighter (Ariane L.)   Apr 23, 2006

Who knew it could still hurt this much?
Who knew I could still feel this way,
After all I've pushed away?

The shed tears never dried.

The memories I cherish of you slowly fade.
They're beginning to escape from my grip.
Time seems to make it harder to remember.

The shed tears still linger on my face.

The sound of your laugh no longer
Sounds at my ears, beautiful music.
All I hear is your voice's whisper.

The shed tears have never dried.

Desperately seeking for a memory,
I try to remember how you were.
Yet the promises I made to never forget you
Seem to slowly be dissipating.

I realize that the tears shed have never left my face.

Some memories will fade, but the poignant ones will always remain, tucked away in a special place.
