A Friend Indeed

You have never seen but more
than a picture of me nor I of you
yet everyday I feel I know you
like you are someone I once knew

Never passing judgment on me
listening with all your heart
understanding my life's tortures
that sometimes tears my world apart

You are an inspiration to many
with words true and wise
completely honest about your life
never hiding beneath a disguise

Showing true compassion
something many of us have seen
through a kind word to those
that others have treated mean

You are like the sunshine
that chases away the rain
a rare precious jem
which only a few remain

You have left footprints on my soul
that will never wash away
introducing us to Sluvious
who always makes my day

You are someone I am honored
to call a dear, dear friend
and if we never meet in person
we'll meet in heaven in the end

I dedicate this poem to none other than
Mr.Bob Shank . Through his words and compassion
has taught us many lessons of life .
I am honored to have had the pleasure to
meet this dear sweet man . And I am even more
honored to call him my friend .Even though he
teases me a lot .....he is still a sweetheart
in my eyes ......lol
