Fake Flowers in the Vase of Life

by Mel   Apr 23, 2006

May I be swept off my feet
By not a man who presents a rose
Nor a man who is as fake as plastic
Oh, the trials of being a life-size Ken doll

Nay, give me a man who gifts me this
A lily of pure white to reflect our love
Is guided not by ego and superficiality
But intellect and compassion

Is there such a man?
Perhaps he is in disguise
A black and white mask
To hide the uncertainty

For now I shall wait
Enjoy the friendships and hardships
For life, it is a relationship itself
Filled with bursts of yellow, blue, black and white

Yellow in times of joy and rejoice
Blue in times of grief and despair
Black in times of darkness and fear
White in times of light and serenity

May these colours intertwine
To form many shards and pieces
May they join and conclude the puzzle
Thus making my soul complete.
