The water ran upon the shelf
Down through the plastered bricks
Turning to red before it hit the floor
The tears that always begin with pain
Angels pasted themselves upon
The extensive wall of pity
They look down on the world
And cry at what we have done
The hourglass is running
The sand sprinkling the bottom
Our time is emptying
And our minds abandon our bodies
The barbed wire strikes our flesh
Whipping us with judgment
We stare at the solemness
Before our verdict is called
Our eyes are filled with water
That we readily empty onto the shelf
where we watch it run down through the seams
Of a life that has no meaning
Once I cut through the paintings
Once you click off the phone
My mind closes, everything shuts off
The realization that I am alone
Watching the inevitable approach
Sinking through the petals
The black dust is thrown
In a ritual that never changes
There is no where to go
Flashes of angry blue and calm red
I run through the grass
Welcoming my demise
They hand out our dutiful destruction
Time for the trigger to be pulled
We'll all kill ourselves before the end
It's better then killing our brothers
Cutting through the thread work of fate
We drown in ecstasy
And suffocate in cocaine
We don't belong anywhere but here
The anger, the hate
The pain and the cries
Is all in the water
That we watch run
The droplets drip from the trees of hanging
And the ropes sway in the commanding breeze
Where are you supposed to go
When you want to escape from reality
I burn my hair and slice my skin
Anything to watch the water
My life flies by, but the clock never moves
The purple blinds covering my eyes
My body becomes black and my eyes white
The flowers laid on my forgotten grave
The candlesticks fall as the wax melts
Before the flood consumes
To conform to pointlessness
Is something I'll never do
Even if I have to die fighting
My life will have purpose
The clearness of the rain
And the murk of the river
A metaphor, I guess
For what our nameless God gave us
We are pure until we reach this world
