Fairytales and Princesses

by Kristin   Apr 24, 2006

Read the volumes of fairy tales,
of stories upon your shelf,
Read of beautiful princesses,
and pretend that it's yourself.

Pretend that you are Cinderella,
and you are riding to the ball,
Your prince will steal your heart,
and will catch you if you fall.

Imagine that you are Sleeping Beauty,
You pricked your finger on the spinning wheel,
Your prince will come and find you,
and he will make you heal.

Maybe you are Snow White,
and you fall asleep forever,
But your prince comes with a kiss,
and he succeeds with his endeavor.

Shrek and Fiona,
are just like Beauty and the Beast,
They love each other for who they are,
they get married and they have a feast!

Ariel left the sea to find her love,
Soon she found her perfect prince,
She was freed from her speechless spell,
and the couple has been together ever since.

Jasmine, the exotic princess,
fell in love with a regular man,
They fought to be together,
and now her life with Aladdin began.

These stories are so wonderful,
and can make anyone believe in love,
But life always doesn't end up perfectly,
it won't end up as the ones stated above.

Don't imagine yourself as a princess or a damsel in distress,
Sometimes your love won't always prevail,
So be careful what you wish to live like because
Your life's not a fairytale.

I remember all these stories and they are lovely. You have such vivid imagery as when you mention a fairytale, it takes us back to them. I would suggest changing these because with both when and if in the same sentence, it doens't make much sense:
    "when if fall"
plus, you never know you might just find your fairytale ending.
