Undying Bones

"Undying Bones"

I did as you told me,
I took this to my grave.
Your secret is safe in these desecrated lips.
A body left to rot with unfinished business,
A tale of death and deceit untold.
A girl remains wondering how her lover died,
But I won't speak a word.
How you murdered him and severed all his limbs,
I'll keep things like that to myself.
I'd hand her a flower out of this billowy grave,
But you still haven't returned my arms to their rightful place.
She needs something to comfort her,
And that light in her mind has suddenly burnt out.
I listen to her cry next to my grave,
Sometimes clenching on to my head stone screaming.
I feel as if I know this girl.
But that can't be.
My love was lost a long time ago,
And she swore she'd never love me again
