Not your Ordinary High School Student

"What is that thing covering her face?"
"Why does she have that weird colored skin?"
They whisper about her Egyptian accent
And think its weird she studies the Muslim religion

"I can barely even eat my food,
Fatty's rolls over here are makeing me sit"
He is only sitting a couple inches away
I bet he's so tired of hearing it

"Ha! That girl taped her shoes!"
They assume her family is very poor
Little did they know the hospital has their money
Trying to heel her brothers injuries from war

"That kids pants are up to his ankles"
He looks so stupid and ugly in them
To bad they don't know his father died
And his mother always abuses him

People think those kids aren't ordinary students
Ones a foreign exchange the other is fat
Two of them can't afford their clothing
Whatever happened to sympathy for that?

I try to understand the accented girl
She just came here from another country
You expect her to know whats going on?
With a new currency to know and a variety of new munchies

So what he's somewhat overweight
It's probably people who crack on his size
That makes him the way he is
I wonder what you look like in his eyes

Yes the girl taped her shoes
I agree it does look somewhat funny
But what happened to keeping comments to ourselves?
The girl pays for her brothers surgerys with her money

Ok so he has high-waters on
His mom cares less of what he needs
But only for herself and new man
Nand they can get some more weed

I show the students friendship and kindess
Like no one else does or wants to
So the unusual high school student is me
Because I'm nice to them unlike all of you

I was sitting with a group of guys and girls in school and there was this really really heavy kid sitting next to us and this one butthole said "man I can barely eat over here, why is he sitting next to us" and I just was so crushed...I mean he is sititng RIGHT THERE did you expect him not to hear you..my heart just broke and when I was writing this poem I started to cry because I'm sure he hears that all the time and it's sad...I just feel for other peoples pain and so I started talking to him the next day and now we are cool...as well as the other kids I decribed in this poem..they are all real kids with real stories!
