Isolation

by Poetvoices   Apr 25, 2006

**I found this poem like 2 days ago, but I wrote it, like, 2 or 3 months ago.**

Isolation's better.
That's what I used to believe.
Left alone to suffer.
Left alone to grieve.

Don't dump your problems on someone else.
It's better to drown in your sorrow
never again to see the light of day,
not waking for tomorrow.

"Don't call tonight. I'll be busy."
Yes, busy in my mind.
Letting my thoughts eat me alive
with no encouraging words so kind.

Now, that that's out of my system,
I can join the world again
glad I didn't heap my issues
onto the shoulders of a friend.
