The Ship and the Lost Soul

by MemoirsOfMe   Apr 25, 2006

The ship glides across the long darkened sea
Its sharpened silhouettes soaring high
The sails spreading as far as my ambitions
Me, standing alone, a desperate cry

Deep orbs of profound thought
Dreams I desire recoil into my mind
Just one moment of freedom, I ask,
Though it doesnt take long

Another ship rises into the horizon
It waves a menacing pennant
Will it destroy my own, I wonder?
That is the least of its objective

We collide into the everlasting battle
I am but in the middle of it all
Please, I beg, preserve my life
They only want to leave me behind

Iâ??m entangled in the seas depth
Fighting until death comes to my soul
Waves crash against my hopes
Nobody around to hear my wail

All I want to do is give up on myself
My past and memories in the wake of death
Though as my heart pounds its last
A hand grabs my very chest

In a frantic scurry of my flailing arms
The water breaks as the white foam engulfs me
My own soul turns against me
And I go deeper and deeper beyond the surface
