B.F - Best Friend, Boyfriend

by BrokenREALiTy   Apr 26, 2006

Best friends
That's how people knew us
Lovers
We tried, but it was useless

So we stuck to something simple
Being simple best friends
For either way
We'd be together till the end

We were as close as friends could get
We told each other everything
And who would've known
Our friendship actually became something

Our feelings continued to grow
The more we had to be apart
We loved each other dearly
We had each other's heart

We both knew this
And yet we couldn't be together
Society and law were against us
It would be like this forever.

I was a few years too young
Or like people said, you were too old
They would blame it all on you
And to you, would be so cold

We stuck by each other through it all
We didn't care what others thought
Standing our ground, we put up a fight
And what a fight we fought

But yet we still lost
Because the law was a law
We couldn't change that
And that, we saw

So we gave it all up
Loved each other while staying friends
But if someone threatened our separation
We would defend

You were scolded by the people
I was called a skank
But it didn't matter for I had you
And for that, I had God to thank

Age is just a number
I don't see what's the big deal
As long as you love each other
And you know the love is real

But I guess the world turned against us
The fateful day you died
A drunk driver had ran into your car
And by your body, I cried

There was nothing anyone could do
The doctors were too late
I begged them to keep trying
And for so long did I wait

But no, Lady Luck was on death's side
My lover, my best friend had died that day
I dropped to my knees speechless
But I had so much to say

I wanted so badly to slap the doctor
But I knew nothing could be done
So I ran inside sobbing, crying, bawling
To talk to you one-on-one

I knew you were gone
And there was nothing I could do
So I simply held your body in my arms
And whispered the words, "I love you."
