Slip On A Smile

by michele deluca   Apr 26, 2006

I'm breaking down, I'm cracking up
I'm making my way to the front
Got to stand up before I step down
Overachieving to make you proud
No longer silenced,speaking out now
Questions of where and why and how
The battle inside me, raging on
For love and hate for right and wrong
Bleeding hands and hearts conceal
Blurring the line between fake and real
Love is death and death is life
Carving our names in a tree with a knife
Now eternally, yours for the taking
Now my heart is yours for breaking
Standing in the spotlight isn't much fun
When it's not you who's holding the gun
Don't tell me you love me, tell me the truth
When it's all gone you've got nothing to lose
So slip on a smile, give me your hand
We'll do this together knowing you understand*
