Drips in Time for a Little Girl

by Tears4DimeKKM   Apr 26, 2006

The melting clock upon the wall
Tells a story, tells it all
A little girl with a tear in her eye
She cannot hold another lie

Her mommy has once again gone away
Only to come back and be awake for days
Neglect and pain through all these years
Not a drop of sorrow for all her hidden tears

Her daddy left when she was just an infant
A disappearing image gone in an instant
His personality haunts her every thought
She is being smothered in her mothers weakness she has caught

She would much rather be gone than be here
If only her mommy could see her clear
Then maybe she would see daddy\'s forgotten gun in the girl\'s hand
How much more emptiness can this little girl stand

She goes to the attic carrying Teddy the bear
He is the only person to admit that he cared
She gives him one last little peck on the cheek
And tells him to give mommy the note she scribbled last week
Then there is silence....

Mommy is now in police custody
There was no love, just from Teddy
The note had mixed sentences from the little girl above
All about emotion, something a 6 yr old would know nothing of
She talked about how hurt she was and how sad
And how she wanted to die so bad
Simply from the things her \"mommy\" chose to do
Ironically at the bottom of the letter, there was a tear-stained \"But I still love you\"

~This is a poem 4 my niece, none of this happened, its just a story that went through my head~
